Aesthetics Nurse Jill Smith left school at 17 and went straight onto West Lothian College of Nursing & Midwifery. She qualified as a RGN in 1991, 30 years ago (how did that happen!!) and took up her first post in Cardiothoracic ITU for 6 years then GP practice for 3 in the treatment room and chronic disease management.  During her long career she has had numerous posts including Sexual Health, education and training co-ordinator for a voluntary organisation, health co-ordinator working with disadvantaged young people and for the past 12 years, as an Addictions Nurse Specialist. Entering the world of Aesthetics happened by chance after meeting a colleague and friend on a prescribing course in 2016.  Before She knew it she had booked herself on her very first course, one off many and has never looked back!  If there’s one thing about Jill, she has a passion for patient safety, learning and thrives on new and interesting challenges. Nothing fits this criteria more than Aesthetic Medicine. She is fully registered with the NMC as an RGN and Independent Prescriber, is a registered service provider with Healthcare Improvement Scotland and established a network of over 400 Scottish practitioners and services required to register with HIS in order to reduce isolation and provide peer to peer support connections. She has been involved with HIS as a stakeholder representing independent providers and the HIS Support Group and is a member of the Scottish Cosmetic Interventions Expert Group who’s primary aim is to advise and develop strategies for improving Industry standards in Scotland for a safer patient experience. Harm reduction is an area Jill has had many years of experience in and in an otherwise unregulated Industry, has grave concerns in this regard and will continue to campaign for tougher legislation and promote patient safety. She is also a member of CMAC which is a network and resource for complications management, keeps up to date with an ever changing industry and attends numerous training courses annually. Recently Jill has introduced in-clinic mentoring for up and coming new talent, clinical supervision and practice development, utilising her vast clinical experience and knowledge to support the personal development of qualified professionals as they start their aesthetics journey.  This has been a very satisfying and rewarding addition to her own practice and hopes to continue to provide this service to many more in the future.

An exciting new role for Jill is as a brand ambassador for Fillmed and their designated Scottish trainer.  This role has seen her travel throughout the UK and attended training with some of the best in the Industry with the opportunity to attend Fillmed's training academy in Monaco. You will frequently find Jill brings the newest,  safest and innovative treatments to her clinic along with her commitment and enthusiasm for her chosen area of medicine. Ensuring her patients leave feeling and looking fabulous is at the heart of her business and will strive to provide the service standards you deserve.
